Terms of Service – Southwest Brass (Reader Defense LLC)
1. Assumption of Risk & Liability Disclaimer
Customers and end-users of products sold by Reader Defense LLC (d.b.a. Southwest Brass) are solely responsible for compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as assuming any and all risks associated with the use of these products. Reloading is an inherently dangerous activity. Incorrect usage or handling of reloading components can result in serious injury or death.
By purchasing from us, you acknowledge and agree that you assume all responsibility for the use, storage, and handling of our products.
Reader Defense LLC (d.b.a. Southwest Brass) shall not be held liable for any damages, injuries, or deaths resulting from the use or misuse of any products purchased.
Products should always be kept out of the reach of children.
Handling previously fired brass shell casings can result in exposure to lead or other hazardous substances—proper safety precautions must be taken.
You are strongly encouraged to consult multiple reputable reloading manuals and manufacturer specifications before attempting to reload ammunition.
By completing a purchase, you expressly agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Reader Defense LLC and Southwest Brass from any and all liability related to the items sold.
2. Additional Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Reader Defense LLC (d.b.a. Southwest Brass) excludes all representations, warranties, and conditions relating to our website, products, and the use of our products. Nothing in this disclaimer will:
Limit or exclude our or your liability for death or personal injury where such limitation is not permitted by law;
Limit or exclude our or your liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
Limit any of our or your liabilities in any way that is not permitted under applicable law; or
Exclude any of our or your liabilities that may not be excluded under applicable law.
The limitations and prohibitions of liability set forth here and elsewhere in these Terms apply to all forms of liability, including those arising in contract, tort, or breach of statutory duty.
Reloading Risk and Liability
Reloading and reloading-related activities—including but not limited to brass collection, sorting, processing, reloading, and firing of reloaded ammunition—carry significant risks. These activities can expose you to hazardous materials (including lead) that may affect your health. It is your sole responsibility to research these hazards, understand the risks, and follow all recommended safety practices. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, follow manufacturer instructions, and exercise caution.
All reloading, firing of reloaded ammunition, and related activities are done strictly at your own risk. Reader Defense LLC (d.b.a. Southwest Brass) assumes no liability for death, injuries, illness, or damage that result from such activities.
3. Return Policy
Please contact us before returning any items. Returns will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
You may return eligible products within 14 days of delivery.
Products must be in new, unused condition and in the original packaging. Used, damaged, or altered products will not be refunded.
Include your contact information and, if possible, a tracking number when shipping a return.
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. Shipping charges are non-refundable.
Non-Returnable Goods:
Brass that has been reloaded, altered, or had components installed and removed.
If the return is approved, we will issue a refund using the original payment method. Please allow 7–10 business days for processing.
4. Refund Policy
Our refund policy lasts 14 days from the date of delivery. If 14 days have passed, unfortunately we cannot offer a refund or exchange.
Refunds will only be granted for unused products in their original condition.
Sale items are non-refundable.
Exchanges will only be made for defective or damaged items.
Partial Refunds:
Partial refunds may be issued if returned items are not in their original condition, are damaged, or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
5. Privacy Policy
5.1 Information Collection
When you purchase from our store, we collect personal information (such as name, address, and email) to process your order. We may also collect your IP address when you browse our store.
5.2 Use of Information
Your information is used only to process transactions, ship products, and provide customer service. With your permission, we may send marketing emails about new products or promotions.
5.3 Third-Party Services
Our store is hosted on Squarespace. Payments are processed by secure third-party gateways. These providers only use your information as necessary to complete your purchase.
5.4 Security
We take reasonable precautions to protect your personal information. Credit card information is encrypted using SSL and stored with AES-256 encryption.
5.5 Age of Consent
By using this site, you confirm you are at least the age of majority in your state of residence, or you have consent from a parent/guardian.
6. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms of Service and any transactions with Reader Defense LLC (d.b.a. Southwest Brass) shall be governed by and construed under the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute, claim, or cause of action shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Clark County, Nevada. You consent to the jurisdiction of such courts.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Reader Defense LLC (d.b.a. Southwest Brass), its owners, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to:
Your use or misuse of our products;
Your violation of these Terms of Service; or
Your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
8. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Updates will take effect immediately upon posting. It is your responsibility to review this page periodically for changes.
If our company is acquired or merged with another entity, your information may be transferred to the new owners.
